I'm Josine and I run WALX Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells. I'm keen to share my love of Walking and in particular Nordic Walking, with you, in the fantastic countryside where I live. My mission is to create a fantastic community of Walkers and Nordic Walkers who gather for together for fitness, friendship and fun! Nordic Walking is, of course, my passion and is at the core of what I do. It is easy to learn and the fitness benefits are huge, not to mention the positive impact on mental well-being from exercising outdoors with like minded people! Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking - the poles (which are different from trekking poles) will ensure you engage your core and use your upper body as well as your legs to get a full body workout. The poles will also propel you along, which means you will work harder and burn more calories, but with the support of the poles, it won't necessarily feel harder! Most people who walk with me decide to learn the Nordic Walking technique (in a Power of Poles session) although this is not essential and I run regular Wellness Walks which do not require you to use poles. Age or fitness level is no barrier and I run several walks a week ranging from gentle scenic walks and longer adventure walks in the surrounding area. There is also the opportunity to join adventures or challenges further afield and I run regular mini retreats combining walking with yoga, qigong, paddle boarding and more! I can help you to achieve your fitness goals whether you are at the start of your fitness journey or you are looking to add something different to an existing fitness routine. Or perhaps you just want to come along and enjoy the social aspect of walking with others.
